| WINTER CITY CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED!
The Atlanta Singles and Texas Doubles Winter City Champions have been crowned!! There were lots of exciting and highly competitive matches.
The closest match was played by Alison McMillan & Christine Wilson who battled through three tie-break sets to determine the Atlanta Business Women's 2.5 City Champion Title. Alison edged out her opponent 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 to claim the title :)
And it was a real family event in Texas! In Houston, the brothers Luu played AGAINST each other in Men's Doubles Final match. Andy Luu & Hai Pham defeated Kien Luu & Dave Patangia to claim the men's 3.5 title. In Dallas, the brothers Furqan Sunny Azhar & Noaman Azhar (shown above right) defeated Kyle Bowman & Robert Johnson, to win the men's 4.0 title. Be sure to check out all of the Champions & Finalists below!
We would like to offer a very warm welcome to our newest cities, Austin & San Antonio. We will be starting in these cities with our singles leagues this Spring and our doubles leagues late Summer.
In Atlanta, we have added our Junior Singles leagues. So tell all of the Juniors you know to sign up TODAY as the first 400 players to register will receive a free pack of Ace Authentic Tennis Trading Cards! Also, if you are a Junior and you are crazy about tennis and keep up with the Junior Tennis scene, we are looking for a columnist for our Junior's Corner spot in our monthly newsletter. If you are a junior and you are interested, contact support@leaguetennis.com.
Our leagues are growing fast but we have a long way to go to achieve our goal of being the best flexible league in town! Every season we learn new things we need to be doing to improve the quality of the league for our players. We are working hard to become better with each passing season, and we have players who played our first Fall season who have remarked that we are getting better each time. So we thank everyone for their continued support and patience!
Sincerely,
The Staff at

TENNIS & FITNESS TIPS
by Jeff Michaud
Share the Workout with Your Kids
Many people ask me if it's Ok to share a Personal Training session with there kids whether they are young children or Adults. For Adult Children the answer is a very simple yes. Sharing a session with adult child or even a another un-related adult gives the combination of advantages of sharing the cost, very important, for my clients at www.fitnesswithjeff.com can save more the 40% on the cost of a regular session per person. Secondly and more importantly builds a level of support for yourself and the other person, on days where I’m not coming out to do a session and where your not thrilled about working and might just say I won’t do it today the other person will hopefully step up and say lets hit the gym or the tennis cour etc. The more support a person has in there workout routine, diet or life style efforts the better. For personal training I recommend 2 times per week, now you should workout just about every day doing different exercises each day, please refer to my article entitled Workout routine, what to do on each day and that will cover the topic of what to do on each given day of the week. read more

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNER - Denise Lumpkin, Riverdale, GA
LeagueTennis.com is excited to announce the winner of our March 2008 Good Sportsmanship Award, Denise Lumpkin of Riverdale, Georgia! Denise was one of the players in our 4.5 level Winter Singles league. Denise went out of her way to allow an accomodation for another player in our Winter City Champion Tournament, and adjusted her schedule to ensure that a first round match could be played. We've spoken to Denise several teams for "league business" and she is as nice a player as you will meet!
Denise
will receive a 1 year subscription to Tennis Life Magazine for being such a good sport!
We want to stress to all of our players that Good Sportsmanship is critical to the success of our leagues. So please keep this in mind and don't let a moment of anger of frustration result in days of feeling badly about how you acted on or off the courts :) Treat other players as you would have them treat you!
So if you experience a notable case of Good Sportsmanship while participating in our leagues--WE WANT TO KNOW! Just send us an email at support@leaguetennis.com with the details along with the names of the players involved! We will highlight the winners in our monthly newsletters and on our Website!
