As we mentioned in our last newsletter, due to our growth, we will be devoting 4 of our newsletters each year to City Championship Results! There are so many winners, there's just not room for much else :)

Our Fall leagues are open for registration, and don't you know Fall is the BEST time of year to play tennis! We want to issue a player challenge -- if each of the 2200 summer participants were to bring 1 other player to the league in Fall, we would have a whopping 4400 participants which means better competition and shorter drive times! Not to mention that you would earn two LeagueTennis $$ every time that player signs up for a league. Are you up to the challenge? :)

ATLANTA JUNIOR SINGLES LEAGUES
Fall will be our 3rd season of Atlanta Junior singles - help us grow this league by telling every junior you know! Ace Authentic sponsors the junior league and the first 400 juniors to sign up each season in 2008 will receive a pack of Ace Authentic Trading Cards!

 

REGISTRATION FEE & REFERRAL PROGRAM
This Fall, some of our leagues have increased in price to $10. In addition, we are targeting Spring 2009 to increase the price of all of our Adult leagues to a regular price of $20 and our Junior leagues to a regular price of $10.

This is still a great value compared to other flexible tennis leagues! With 5 to 6 regular matches each season and 4 seasons each year, $80 per year gets you a total of 20 to 24 regular season matches plus 4 big playoff tournaments with a chance to become City Champion :)

Also, consider that you can avoid paying the $20 fee altogether by referring as few as 10 players to LeagueTennis.com. Our referral program pays Two LeagueTennis $$ each time a referral pays to play in our league. You keep earning each and every season they play - not just one time!

These $$ can be used to pay for future registrations or redeemed for gift cards. Many of our players are already cashing in their LeagueTennis $$ for registrations and gift cards!! So start referring players now and you will never have to pay to play flexible tennis again!



NEED A PARTNER?  Don't let the lack of a partner keep you off the courts! Find a partner for any of our doubles leagues!

 

WEBSITE ENHANCEMENTS
Keep an eye out this Fall for new features including a revamped My Schedule page that includes facility information for home and away matches, a revamped dashboard page with a player announcement section, pro tour news and weather, and a Search Player Performance feature allowing you to look up performance history on any player in our system, not just players in your league. In addition, in 2009 we will be adding a Leaderboard for a quick view of the top players in each active league as well as some exciting social networking features! We will continue to assess and incorporate as many of the enhancement requests as we can so keep those ideas coming!

I PLAY TENNIS WINS USTA GEORGIA CORPORATE LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

At the recent USTA Georgia Corporate League State Championships, the open level team from I Play Tennis represented Atlanta well by becoming the state champs! The tournament took place in July and was sponsored by KIA Motors & Country Club of Roswell. I Play Tennis also fields both a 4.0 and an Open team in the Dave FM Corporate League. So the next time you need to make a tennis purchase or get a racquet strung, head to their store and let an experienced team assist you!!

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNER - August, 2008
Chris Lee, Tucker, GA

LeagueTennis.com is excited to announce the winner of our August 2008 Good Sportsmanship Award - Chris Lee of Tucker, Georgia!

Good Sportsmanship is so important to the game of tennis and to our league. In fact, we think that because Chris is such a good sport, it puts him into a class with the likes of Roddick, Federer, Serena & Lindsey as you can see from the picture at left. (That's Chris in the middle in case you didn't know!)

Chris Lee was nominated by one of his opponents in the Atlanta singles league who was impressed by Chris' good sportsmanship both on the courts and in scheduling the match. Plus, we've gotten to know Chris a little during the last few seasons, and we have always been impressed that he is proactive and accommodating when scheduling matches. And like us, he is crazy about the game of tennis!!

We are happy to have players like Chris Lee in our league! Thanks to Tennis Life Magazine, Chris will receive a 1 year subscription for being such a good sport!

We want to stress to all of our players that Good Sportsmanship is critical to the success of our leagues. Treat others as you would have them treat you both on the courts AND in scheduling the matches! And, if you experience a notable case of Good Sportsmanship while participating in our leagues--WE WANT TO KNOW!
